Datalogging Parameters

Basic Logging Items

When performing data logging with your tuning device, there are several key parameters that you should monitor to gain valuable insights into your vehicle's performance. Below is a list of basic logging items that are crucial for effective data analysis:

  • RPM - Revolutions per minute of the engine.
  • Boost pressure - The pressure of air supplied to the engine by the turbocharger.
  • Throttle position - The position of the throttle valve in the engine.
  • AFR or lambda - Air-Fuel Ratio or lambda value indicating the mixture of air to fuel in the combustion chamber.
  • Ignition advance - The timing of the spark plug firing, measured in degrees before top dead center.
  • STFT - Short Term Fuel Trim, which adjusts the fuel mixture in real-time.

Monitoring these basic items will provide a comprehensive overview of your vehicle's operational dynamics, which is essential for effective tuning and performance optimization.
