Resetting Your EK1

This guide explains how to reset your EK1 device, which is necessary if you have flashed a tune to your car or if you have purchased a used device that displays a VIN in the S/W info screen.

1. Navigate to Settings on your EK1 device and select Create Power Mode Reset File.
2. Remove the SD card from your EK1 device and access the INIT folder.
3. Locate the .DAT file that includes your serial number.
4. Create a ticket with the SXTHNK team and upload the .DAT file. Note that there is a $75 fee for this service.
5. Once the fee is paid, the SXTHNK team will send back a new file with the tag _KEY.
6. Place this file in the INIT folder on your SD card.
7. Reinsert the SD card into your EK1 device.
8. Go to Settings and choose Reset Power Mode.

Important Warning: Do not select Create Power Mode Reset File again before using the KEY file. Doing so will invalidate the KEY file.

Following these steps will reset your EK1 device, making it ready for sale or for a new user. This process ensures that the device is cleared of any previous customizations or vehicle-specific data.
